How to Play
OBJECT
Be the player with the most matches once all of the cards have been turned over.
SET UP
Shuffle all the cards and place them picture side down, on a flat surface.
GAME PLAY
The youngest player goes first by turning over two cards so they are visible to all players. If the two cards match with the same picture, the player keeps them; if not they are returned to the same place, picture-side down. A player that makes a match takes another turn, and continues to take turns until they fail to make a match.
VOCALISING WORDS TO ENCOURAGE LEARNING
Players should say the Māori word when they flip a matching pair to lock-in that pair as theirs (Te Reo Māori game). Please be patient with new learners!
WINNING
When all the pairs have been found, the player with the most pairs wins!
